When Babcock and Story purchased the entire Island of Coronado for just over $100,000 in the 1800's, they had a big vision for the place.  Even with that big vision, I wonder if they could have imagined how beautiful the property would still be, hundreds of years later. 

For me, this was one of my favorite vacations.  A lot to like about it and reasons to consider coming back.

The Property

The architecture was distinct from other California beach properties.  I'm sure it's kind of a pain to maintain the exterior because there's lots of wood, paint, and detailing that probably doesn't wear super well during rainy months.  But it was refreshing to see all of the woodwork, both interior and exterior.  Hilton remodeled the property over the last few years, and I'm sure there will be a lot of corporate events and weddings that continue to prioritize this venue for years to come. It was always clean and organized, and fun to just walk around and enjoy.
